Dining Room Makeover
We have our first house guests coming over for a Sunday roast in a few days. A friend of Neils, Laura, her husband and their son Rory. We've invited them over to say 'Thank You' to Laura for coming over the day after we moved in and spending the afternoon totally blitzing the bathroom and making it sparkle for us!
The large Dining Room table that we have on order is not being delivered until the end of October so we'd made the decision to leave all the remaining unpacked boxes from the move in the front room until we have the room decorated ready for the delivery of the table.
The previous owners had left us this huge kitchen table and chairs in the kitchen which we've been using since we moved in but we both said how we'd wish we could actually use the front room as a real Dining Room rather than eat in the Kitchen, especially as it was a special 'Thank You' from us for Laura giving up her Saturday and spending the afternoon cleaning.
We thought... 'Could we move the Kitchen table in to the front room and use it as a temporary Dining Room?".
Unfortunately to clear the room and make space for the Kitchen table we'd need to move and carry all the boxes upstairs and put them in the back bedroom on the first floor.
It was going to be a hefty job, but we thought why not... it'll make all the difference!
Carrying everything upstairs took us most the afternoon and literally nearly killed us, but we actually did it!
Next was to move the kitchen table, rug and chairs in to the front room and I gotta' to say for a temporary makeover we think it's turned out pretty darn good! Not to mention from now on, anyone else we invite over for a meal, we can now use this room as a 'bona fide' Dining Room!
The house really seems to be taking shape!
